Phoenix, Arizona, is a city surrounded by mountains. Everywhere you turn, there are intimations of the desert and wilderness that span distances. Here are some photos from the Superstition Mountains, outside of Apache Junction, just east of Phoenix. This is also the location of Lost Dutchman State Park.
