Saturday Stroll at the Desert Botanical Garden

Entrance at Desert Botanical Garden, Phoenix, AZ
Being at the Desert Botanical Garden yesterday, I didn't devote attention exclusively to the skulls and Day of the Dead events, although that was the main focus. Here are some photos I took of the garden as I walked along its many paths.

I love the knobby form of this cactus. It's not a totem pole cactus, but looks somewhat similar to one.

I have no idea what this sculpture is supposed to be, but I love its colorfulness and funky shape.

I believe these specimens, above, are cardon cactus plants. I wanted to take a photo of them next to that building to highlight just how large they actually are. Since many cacti are slow-growing, I have no idea how old these specimens are, but they embody magnificence on a titanic scale.

I love taking close-up photos of cacti. I enjoy capturing their varying texture. I especially love those cactus stalks that are punctured with holes. See below. Very cool.
