Stones in a Creek

Looking at some photos from last October's trip to Boulder, CO, I found this photo I remember taking but seemed to have overlooked. Another stone cairn, placed in the middle of Boulder Creek. There is something about the placement of stone cairns in the middle of water that appeals to me. Maybe it's the way water ripples over and around stones, making its way so effortlessly, rhythmically, around their solid presence. I think there is a lesson in that movement: there are multiple ways to get to your destination, you only need to embrace a flexibility in movement, an openness, to get there. Don't worry about losing your way; the stone cairns will mark your path.
