Upward and Outward in Tempe, AZ
I really enjoy the design of the Tempe Municipal Building. Shaped as an inverted pyramid, the building rises and then flares impossibly outward at the top. Because ficus trees surround the building, obscuring sight of it with their dense, spreading foliage, it's difficult to get an unobstructed view of the building for a photograph. These two photos are the best that I can do. There is a similarly shaped building just outside of downtown Phoenix, which will be the objective of another photo quest in the near future.
