On the Road to Prescott, AZ

Road trip to Prescott, AZ
Today, I had an enjoyable trip to Prescott, AZ. Located in high desert north of Phoenix, AZ, Prescott was a 19th century boomtown that is now the location of many art galleries and boutiques, along with restaurants and bars. I have some photos of the town itself, but want to review them before posting them to the blog. In the meantime, enjoy these photos taken during the road trip to Prescott. The day was beautifully clear blue and sunny, and the desert was gorgeous to see.

The patches of yellow you see on those rolling hills are wildflowers in bloom. Throughout the drive up to Prescott, we were greeted by alternating patches of various shades of green, brown, and yellow. These wildflowers I did not recognize, but there was also an abundance of sunflowers in bloom.

If you were out on this drive today, you might have noticed that we are heading into autumn in Arizona. Along with the slow change in leaf color among the cottonwoods, you would have sensed a decrease in the desert heat's intensity. Autumn is present in Arizona, but it often arrives wearing subtle shades.
