Oleander

My life has been busy and ordinary lately, with no real excursions to capture on photographs. Anyway, let this photo of pink oleander bring beauty to your day.  I confess, initially I did not care for oleander, which seem to inhabit every garden and front lawn in the Valley, but they have grown on me, at least this bold pink variety, along with the white and the deep red types, not so much the insipid powder pink variety. Anyway, enjoy!

Oleander

Precisely because oleander grow everywhere here in the Valley, along with bougainvillea, it has taken me a while to really appreciate their beauty. There are several varieties that grow in gardens throughout the Valley. My favorite is the red, then the white and the pink (shown above). There is also one that blooms in a pale salmon color. Below is an oleander blooming with a jacaranda tree in the background.
