Pastoral Portrait, Outside Prescott, AZ

Almost forgot to post this photograph, which I had intended to be the first. Just a landscape photo taken a few miles before arriving in Prescott, AZ. I took a photo similar to this, in the same area, a year ago. The desert here is so different from what defines the desert surrounding Phoenix.  This is high desert country, more reminiscent of northern New Mexico than central Arizona. Ravens enjoy a thriving habitat here. Today, on the way to Prescott, I spotted a flock of four ravens flapping off into flight. There is such openness here. Imagine the silence you could enjoy at night while living in this countryside. I am sure the evening sky would be littered with stars, similar to the sky that would greet me at night when living outside of Santa Fe. Here's to the beauty of open space!
