Warm Greetings from a Hot Place

Greetings from Tempe, AZ!  This piece of public art graces the grounds of the Tempe Municipal Building.  It is a warm greeting from a place where the temperature reached 107 degrees fahrenheit today (and summer hasn't even officially begun!)  Obviously, I love the desert motif that is employed in this work of art, and the splash of color it provides.  I don't know why, but this is reminiscent of the very cool fantastical artwork of a local Prescott artist, Carolyn Schmitz, which I think is amazing. Cool stuff, indeed!  Take time out to enjoy some incidental beauty, even while the harsh summer heat beats down upon you.
